The server runs Purpur, a Paper fork, chosen for the speed-ups it makes under the hood. The gameplay toggles it offers are switched off. Most performance advice for Minecraft servers works by breaking farms; that trade has not been made here.
Specifically
- Simulation distance 10 — the vanilla default. Your farms tick as far away as they would in single player.
- Entity activation range 128. Most servers freeze mob AI at 16–64 blocks, which silently breaks farms. Not here.
- Redstone is the vanilla implementation. No "optimised" variant with different timings.
- Explosions, armour stands and hoppers all behave as they do in vanilla.
- Player cramming damage is on, and phantoms attack everyone — both vanilla, both commonly turned off elsewhere.
The one deliberate exception
Mob spawning is per-player. In vanilla, one enormous farm can consume the entire server's mob cap and everyone else stops seeing mobs. Here each player effectively gets their own cap, so your farm's output depends on you and not on what someone else built three thousand blocks away. It is the one non-vanilla choice on this list, and it exists so that everything else can stay vanilla.
